The reality of creditors:
For the most part, creditors try to put on the appearance of being caring and helpful. They lend you money so that you can have an easier life and if you are late, they try to work with you by lowering your interest fees. But, is this just a farce so that they can have the perception of being helpful? Let’s look at the facts.
Credit cards are backed by huge companies that make up to hundreds of millions of dollars a year. If they lower your interest a few percent do you think they really notice a difference in the overall scheme of things? So, why do they do it? Why don’t they knock down that interest rate by ten percent, or better yet, get rid of it altogether?
Have you ever noticed that if you are late on some of your bills, you start to receive more credit card offers in the mail? It almost seems as though credit card companies want to lend money to people who are financially struggling. Are they doing this out of the goodness of their hearts, or do they know that they will make more money off of someone who has a hard time paying their bills than they would off of someone who can faithfully make payments every month.
These are just a few questions to ask yourself when wondering if credit card companies are really there to help you in your time of need. More often than not, all they care about is the amount of money that you pay them. If you are financially struggling it is just that much harder to deal with them.
