Time out! Take a mini vacation - and don't spend a dime!
When you think of a vacation, what comes to mind? If you are anything like millions of other people in the world - the answer to that question involves expensive spas, ski resorts, or beachfront getaways. While those places make fantastic vacations, they are often a huge strain on the wallet. If you have debt, you might think that you don’t deserve to take a vacation until your debt is under control, but that is not true.
It is important to take care of yourself, even if you are in debt. Vacations can reduce your stress, re energize your mind, and relax your body. Taking a vacation does not mean you need to spend thousands of dollars. There are plenty of mini vacations you can take, without even spending a dime!
You can load up the car with camping gear, binoculars, and marshmallows, and head for the woods. Once you leave the stress of the city behind, camping can bring you and your family closer together.
You could also head to the beach. You don’t need to stay at a beachfront hotel to get the best vacation. You can get up early, throw your boogie board in the trunk, bring a cooler full of sandwiches and bottled water, and head to the coast. Get there early enough to watch the sunrise, or late enough to watch it set. Play in the surf and build a sand castle. Oceans have a magical quality around them that make even the most dedicated professional have childhood stirrings. If you aren’t close to a beach, head to a park! Bring along a fishing pole and some corn to try to catch fish or help your kids fly a kite.
These are just a couple of ideas, use your imagination and you can have a mini vacation that will help you relax without breaking your bank. For even bigger piece of mind, each dollar you save is also a dollar you can spend towards getting out of debt.
